IRATDE
Conferences
The IRATDE hosts a biennial
international conference on gifted and talented children, excellence across
domains, innovation and invention during autumn in odd-numbered years. The
Executive Committee determines the location and dates of the conferences. Bids
or proposals to host an IRATDE biennial conference must be made three
years before the conference. The first conference was held from October 30th to
November 2nd, 2009 in Xi´an (China). The second conference will be held on
April 19 to April 22, 2012 in Beijing (China).
Invitation
The International Conference on
Talent Development and Excellence will be held on April 19 to April 22, 2012 in
Beijing. The Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; the Chinese
Psychological Society; the International Research Association for Talent
Development and Excellence (IRATDE); the Center for International Scientific
Exchanges, Chinese Academy of Sciences are pleased to be organizing this
convention.
In the world today, with the rapid scientific and technological development,
creative and innovative people has become the fundament of competition in
comprehensive national strength. Therefore, the early education of talent and
excellence is the critical guarantee for the economic and social development.
The Chinese president, Hu Jintao, stressed that the continuous development and
innovation of socialist modernization depend heavily on the creative thinking
and creative activities of creative talents on different aspects.
Accordingly, in this academic conference, we aim to gather scholars committed
to early cultivation and education of talent and excellence to communicate and
share research results, as well as discuss research method and educational
methods. Meanwhile, the excellent educational practice institutions in early
education of talent and excellence, including youth class of University of
Science and Technology of China, the high school affiliated to Renmin
University of China, and Beijing No. 8 middle school will introduce their achievements
and experiences and discuss a series questions related to early cultivation and
education of talent and excellence.
It is expected that such an
international conference will provided a supporting platform to researcher,
educator, parents, and related personnel, which will further promote the
flourish of early cultivation and education of talent and excellence in our
country as well as worldwide.
The
theme of the conference
The theme of the conference is
to investigate a range of issues about the early development and education for
the talents, especially for their innovation ability; to reveal the key points
and issues as well as educational policies during the early foster of the
talents; to accelerate the effective early training for the talents in China;
to provide scientific basis for cultivating high-quality talented people.

1. The latest developments of
theoretical research about creativity and intelligence world widely.
2. The characteristics of cognition, personality and social development of the
outstanding talents.
3. The developmental characteristics of the high achievers.
4. The curriculum designed for talent development and excellence.
5. Teacher training for the innovative education
6. Family factors involved in the education of talented people.
7. Social environmental factors involved in the education of talented people.
